Day of the Launch

Launch Date

27th August 2010

So at the end of August 2010 Port Edgar Marina lifted her into the forth on a lovely sunny day.  No mast or bowsprit just to see how she sits.  A little water ingress as you would expect and the bilge pump working to its hearts content.  Ronnie advised me that she would take up when I had spoken to him previously, but when its the first time it does make you anxious.

So she was in now for the bowsprit, I hadn't seen it fitted before.  From pictures and a little luck it was on.

Two days later the pump was only turning on once every 10 minutes, so going in the right direction.  Time for the mast, forestay and boom.

With Mast and Shrouds

With my In-laws present we now have a sail boat not just a hull.  Beth who is standing on Hatasoo sailed her when she was a teenager while living in Clynder.  A friend of the MacGrouthers she would sail with Vera, Ronnie and Ian.

I know having a three stage ladder as a part of the mast installation process isn't maybe normal, but it worked.

Finally with our good friends Jonathan and Elaine she is tucked up for the next stage.
